Contemporary Viking minimalism. Large tapestries, soft wall hangings, plant-dyed yarns and quiet interiors — made slowly on wooden looms, inspired by fjords, fog and old sagas.
Aslaug Sig is an artist, weaver and natural dyer. Her name comes from saga heroine Aslaug — wise, resilient, deeply connected to nature. That spirit lives in every thread.

Working between a fjord studio and a city loom-room. Wool from free sheep, dyes from birch, madder and lichen.
Mass production made textiles silent. I want them to speak again — of hands, seasons, sheep on mossy hills, of grandmother patterns re-imagined for concrete lofts and cabins.
Every Aslaug Sig piece starts as raw fleece or flax. I wash, card, spin, dye with plants, then weave on countermarch and frame looms. No two pieces are identical. Small irregularities are signatures, not flaws.
From monumental wall art to everyday softness. All pieces can be commissioned in custom sizes and palette — woven to your light.

Large abstract landscapes — fog lines, basalt strata, sea mist. For hotels, retreats, quiet living rooms.

Throws, cushions, runners and rya rugs. Undyed greys, oat, moss. Machine-washable wool, extra soft.

Plant-dyed skeins, weaving kits, swatch books. For makers who want to touch true colour.
A single tapestry takes 80–200 hours. I document every batch — sheep farm, dye pot pH, loom tension — so your piece carries provenance like fine wine.
Dye recipes, loom diaries, studio life, sustainability thoughts and new collection drops. Updated weekly from the fjord.
